The staff were amazing; super friendly and helpful, concerned about me when I missed a free breakfast (and let me know I can request a box breakfast if I can't make breakfast in person).
The hotel and room was super clean, and the little cafe in the restaurant was superb. The location was incredible - right in old Chiang Mai, walking distance to tons of great restaurants, pubs, Saturday Night Market, Sunday Market, must see temples (like Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh), and of course massage everywhere.
The only concern I'd note is that the listing on Expedia says they provide laundry service - they do not. This wasn't a problem though, there is a great (clean, comfortable) little laundrymat just a 4 minute walk down the road. But the expedia listing should be corrected for accuracy. We (my wife and I) loved our stay at this little hote

We found the location of Tapae Villavery convenient, walking distance to the Sunday night market and easy tuk tuk ride to most locations. The motel staff are all very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and house keeping was very good. Although rooms are on the smaller side we had no issues with finding room for our luggage.

We travel to Chiang Mai several times a year, and have popped around to different hotels over the past 5 years. From now on, we've found "home"! The facilities are beautiful and new, the staff are gracious, helpful and speak excellent English, and the location could not be more perfect. We love staying near Tapae Gate, and this will be our "go to" hotel from now on! The made-to-order breakfast looked awesome, but we just had coffee and explored other great breakfast options nearby. We didn't swim in the pool, but it looked beautiful and inviting. Our room did face the main road and moat, but we were not bothered with traffic or noise at all.

Friendly staff, good location, good coffee at their cafe . Close to the food market and easy to get local food around that area. the only things is we booked the pool access room but seems others also can access to the pool. but the price charge is so much different. Hotel should make it as private cos if we forgot to lock the door means anyone also can go to our room by using the back door.
